چکیده
Recent progress in large-scale sequencing, genomics, and rapid gene isolation techniques has accelerated the identification of race-specific resistance ( R ) genes their corresponding avirulence Avr wheat, barley, rye, wild relatives. Here, we describe growing repertoire identified with special emphasis on novel architectures, revealing that there is a large diversity proteins encoded by extends beyond canonical nucleotide-binding domain leucine-rich repeat proteins. Immune receptors unique architectures controlling possibly reveal aspects biology host–pathogen interactions. We conclude polyploid cereal genomes have evolutionary potential to generate diverse types genes. • New tools are accelerating cloning both hosts as well biotrophic pathogens. Comparative genomics ten high-quality reveals NLRome wheat. Novel functional control immunity cereals. Cereal highly dynamic acting laboratories for

NLR-parser: rapid annotation of plant NLR complements
MOTIVATION The repetitive nature of plant disease resistance genes encoding for nucleotide-binding leucine-rich repeat (NLR) proteins hampers their prediction with standard gene annotation software. Motif alignment and search tool (MAST) has previously been reported as a tool to support annotation of NLR-encoding genes. However, the decision if a motif combination represents an NLR protein was ...
متن کاملNLR network mediates immunity to diverse plant pathogens.
Both plants and animals rely on nucleotide-binding domain and leucine-rich repeat-containing (NLR) proteins to respond to invading pathogens and activate immune responses. An emerging concept of NLR function is that "sensor" NLR proteins are paired with "helper" NLRs to mediate immune signaling. However, our fundamental knowledge of sensor/helper NLRs in plants remains limited. In this study, w...

متن کاملEffector recognition and activation of the Arabidopsis thaliana NLR innate immune receptors.
Plant immunity to coevolved pathogens relies on the perception of pathogenic effectors by nucleotide-binding domain and leucine-rich repeat-containing (NLR) proteins-sophisticated intracellular receptors that have both perception and signaling roles in activating defenses. Given the conserved domain architecture of NLRs, a structural biology perspective is particularly relevant to understanding...
